Responsibilities

As a Playstation engineer you will be responsible for porting and maintaining our app on Playstation.  You will provide technical guidance across our architecture, designs, implementations, and support.  You will be highly proficient in developing against console platforms, including integration of Playstation Network API’s, and understanding Playstation store requirements. 

 

  • Own the porting of our existing multiplatform Antstream App (Xbox, desktop, mobile) onto Playstation 4 and Playstation 5.

  • Use your experience with the Playstation ecosystem to advise technical leads how to navigate Playstation technical requirements.

  • As a C++ Programmer you'll utilise your C++ experience to design, develop, test and implement our app.

  • Evangelise best practices through effective consultation with your peers.

  • Work with 3rd party vendors and continually review the latest technologies to help us stay ahead of the game.

  • Write, review and take responsibility for technical documentation.

  • Work closely with production, engineering, design, and art teams on technical goals, features, planning, and development. 

  • Collaborate and co-develop with other engineering teams, as well as participate in code reviews. 

  • Evangelise best practices through effective consultation with your peers.

If you have most of the following, then we definitely want to hear from you:

  • A can do, let’s get it done attitude.

  • At least one published game on Playstation 4 or 5.

  • Deep knowledge of Playstation system capabilities and weaknesses. E.g. Memory Management, Multi Threading etc

  • Experience developing commercial projects in C++.

  • Comfortable working with native systems at a low level.

  • Experience with integration using Playstation Network SDKs. For example payments, logon, achievements, metrics etc.

  • Knowledge of the Playstation Store QA and submission process.

  • 4+ years industry programming experience.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

  • Strong knowledge of Git source control.

 

Desireable

  • Other programming language experience such Javascript, NodeJS.

  • Experience with Xbox development.

  • Experience within the gaming sector is preferred.

  • Some experience with modern CI/CD processes and tools e.g Jenkins, CircleCI
